Steve Cole; VP of Real Estate Development

Steve served as Director of Development for Crescent Real Estate Equities for six years. At Crescent, Mr. Cole was directly responsible for over $400 million of commercial development and $200 million of acquisitions. His responsibilities included creation of a development group at a company with no prior development experience. In 2000 Crescent broke ground on a 27-story office building, 5 Houson Center, the first multi-tenant high-rise office building to be constructed in downtown Houston since 1986. Mr. Cole oversaw the design, construction and leasing of 5 Houston Center, which was later sold for one of the highest per square foot prices ever paid for a Houston office property.

Mr. Cole also worked for Lincoln Property Company for ten years, ultimately becoming a Senior Vice President responsible for the asset management of 36 million square feet of Class A office space. He managed a staff of over 300, including 45 property managers in twleve states. Mr. Cole also played the key role in developing Lincoln’s third-party management business, which grew from a start-up operation to a portfolio of over 10 million square feet in three years. He was also primarily responsible for obtaining and overseeing a major facilities management contract for NationsBank, involving the development of a comprehensive facilities management integration program for 4 million square feet of space in over 400 locations.
